The Ball-Sellers House, in partnership with the Glencarlyn Library Garden, is celebrating colonial gardening. Tour the c.1750 farmhouse and learn from master gardeners how colonial Virginians grew and used their garden produce. See our colonial garden, our model beehives, and a modern rain garden at work.

Ball-Sellers House folks will also be at the Glencarlyn Library parking lot in a community event that includes local sales of hand-made pottery, hive-made honey, plants for the garden or the home. Practice with a quern or a mortar and pestle to grind grain or corn like our ancestors did.

There will also be master gardeners to help with plant selection and answer your questions about the community garden behind the library or your own.

We’ll be at BOTH the Ball-Sellers House at 5620 3rd St., South AND at the Glencarlyn Library at 300 S. Kensington St. South
