Come and hear the story of a local legend who at age 19 participated in the Freedom Rides
into the Deep South, was arrested many times and imprisoned, endured harassment and violence
at the 1963 Woolworth lunch counter sit-ins, and worked with and knew many of the icons of the
Civil Rights movement.

This event is hosted by Mount Olivet United Methodist Church and St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and is co-sponsored by the Arlington Historical Society, Calloway United Methodist Church, the Black Heritage Museum of Arlington, and Challenging Racism.
