AHS is helping Fort C. F. Smith celebrate its Living History Day. Visit our table to see artifacts from the AHS museum collection about this Civil War fort and life here during the Civil War. We’ll have reenactors who will show you what soldiers wore and what they carried every day and into battle.
Fort C.F. Smith was part of the defensive ring protecting the capital city with US Army troops from potential Confederate attack. Visit the fort’s welcome center and go on history tours of the site. Join us for a day of living history that will include drilling activities, specialized fort tours and more. Come learn about Civil War life in Arlington County and beyond at this free event. Registration is Not Required.
