This is a film produced by the Izaak Walton League showing the ecological threat faced by Four Mile Run in 1949. Founded in 1922, the Izaak Walton League is one of America’s oldest and most successful conservation organizations. It is the only organization training, equipping, and coordinating volunteer water monitors on a national scale.

Izaak Walton lived from 1593 to 1683 and remains famous today as the author of The Compleat Angler, one of the most important environmental books in history. Walton understood that a healthy environment was essential to the outdoor recreation that he loved.
