This is a studio interview with Dr. Talmadge Williams, Chairman of the Black Heritage Museum of Arlington and explores the legacy of Freedmen’s Village.

Part 1 focuses on the founding of Freedmen’s Village and life in it. Part 2 begins with Freedmen’s Village and ends with the 2009 efforts to transition The Black Heritage Museum of Arlington from a virtual museum to a physical one on land the county was trying to get from Arlington National Cemetery. [Ultimately, the land deal with Arlington National Cemetery that Dr. Williams discusses in the video, did not occur.]
