Learning Activities

The Arlington Historical Society (AHS) challenges Arlington students to create virtual exhibits about Arlington County.

  • Students in grades K-4 should submit an idea for an artifact to be included in the exhibit.
  • Older students must create an actual exhibit about a topic or theme relating to Arlington.

Students will learn about local history and make the connection between local history and what they learn in school.  Submissions will be displayed on the AHS website and social media and are due by Friday, November 6.  Directions, in English and Spanish are found at the links below.

Younger students / Estudiantes más jóvenes. The “Artifact Challenge” for younger students is due on November 6, 2020. Email your response to: AHSedlink@gmail.com.

Teens and adults / Adolescentes y adultos. The invitation to create a virtual exhibit is due on November 6, 2020. Email your response to AHSedlink@gmail.com.

We add a new learning activity for both younger learners and teens and adults every four to six weeks. We post the results on our website and we notify everyone of the results using social media on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
