The Ball-Sellers House will be helping its Glencarlyn neighborhood celebrate its heritage. After all we’re the oldest house in the county (built c. 1750). Not only that, but three generations of Carlins lived in the house. They are the namesake of the neighborhood because their land became the basis of the neighborhood’s establishment in the 1887.
Volunteers will be walking in the neighborhood parade. The parade’s theme this year is “Take Me Out To the Ballpark.” Come and see how our volunteers spin that into a colonial message! The parade starts at St. John’s Episcopal Church on 4th Street at 11:30 am. A good place to watch this parade is from the lawn of the Ball-Sellers House.
The house will also be open from 1-4 pm for free tours as part of the Glencarlyn Home Tour. The Ball-Sellers House is located at 5620 3rd Street, South in Arlington.
