Dr, Mark Benbow, AHS Museum Director and Assistant Professor of US History at Marymount University will talk about a famous local spot in Arlington spot where people like Amelia Earhart dined. It was founded by two sisters, active in the suffrage movement who spent time in Lorton Prison before opening their restaurant. Located on Arlington Ridge Road, the Little Tea House was a favorite eating place for famous people who visited visiting Washington DC from the 1920s to 1950s. It was also one of the first places in Arlington where racially mixed groups could gather.
