Join the fun at the Ball-Sellers House as we celebrate our neighborhood and our history!

Meet history re-enactors as they show you how people in the colonial era made the things they needed. You’ll see wool and flax spun into yarn and thread and beautiful material being woven from them. Try your hand at making corn husk dolls or stitching historic patterns in stockings.  You’ll see how candles were made, and learn how families lived off the land in the frontier of Virginia before the Revolutionary War.

Plus: tour the oldest building in Arlington County–FREE–and see how John Ball built it in the 1740s.  Learn how Glencarlyn got its name and how the family left its legacy in the community.  Top it off with a taste of colonial era sweet treats.

There is something for everyone as we celebrate Glencarlyn Day and transport you back in time!
