Arlington Historical Museum
To help commemorate the 60th anniversary of the desegregation of Arlington’s public schools on Febaru y2, 1959, the Arlington historical Museum will have an exhibit tracing the events and the people who fought for and against desegregation. For more than 4 years families fought for their right to an education amid Virginia’s “Massive Resistance” campaign against the Supreme Court’s Brown v. Board of Education ruling. This exhibit will compliment a panel discussion on February 14 featuring several of the students and family members involved in this arduous effort.
This free exhibit will be on display now through the end of March. The museum is open FREE on Fridays 1230-3:30 and Saturdays and Sundays 1-4.
