Join Ball-Sellers House archaeology volunteers at Gunston Hall, the historic home of George Mason at the annual archaeology day. Find out what archaeology is really about: discovering history! Gunston Hall is the host for activities for all ages. Uncover what it takes to be an archaeologist – sift for artifacts, record soil differences, discover what remains after 200 years, piece together pottery, and dress like an archaeologist. See what has been found so far at historic houses from Arlington (the Ball-Sellers House) to Mason Neck (Gunston Hall). Activities will be happening on the grounds from 10am to 4pm. Included with regular admission. This program is presented in partnership with the Archaeological Society of Virginia, Northern Virginia Chapter.
