Henry Ward, Supervising Archaeologist and Historic Preservation Coordinator for the Metropolitian Washington Airports Authority not only the Custis family and the subsequent owners of Abingdon but even more revealingly, highlights how the African-American enslaved people lived and worked on the site based on archaeological evidence and historical research.

Ward also introduces the viewer to the more modern history of National Airport and efforts to preserve it.
