Special Opening: What better way to celebrate Independence Day than to visit a house that is old enough to have heard the new Declaration of Independence! The Ball-Sellers House was built in the 1740s, 30 YEARS BEFORE the colonies declared their independence.  John Ball, a middle class farmer, built the house when the land was still owned by the King of England. Learn how he and his wife and five daughter lived and worked during the colonial period. Come and see what life was like for early Americans in Virginia with a free tour of the house with a knowledgeable docent.
